Xcellon Capital Advisors, a Lagos-based financial advisory firm, will hold its inaugural Infrastructure Breakfast Series on July 21, 2016, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria's capital city.
The flagship event is being organised under the Xcellon Infrastructure Roundtable (XIR), an industry platform that is designed to provide policy dialogues and engagement between Nigerian policymakers and senior private sector executives.
The Keynote Speaker at the Xcellon Infrastructure Breakfast Series will be Honourable Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, according to a statement issued on Monday by Xcellon Capital Advisors. The theme of the conference is: “2016 Budget and Strategies for Financing Capital Expenditure and Infrastructure Development in Nigeria.”
The timing of the conference coincides with the commencement of capital projects execution by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, following the passage of the 2016 budget in May.
The government has allocated N1.59 trillion for capital expenditure in the N6.06 trillion 2016 budget. Some of the critical infrastructure projects the governments has earmarked to be developed and upgraded span roads, bridges, power, railway, aviation, water, housing, agriculture, education, and health.
“We are quite bullish on the long-term prospects of the Nigeria Economy, despite current cyclical down turn,” said Dr. Chamberlain Peterside, Chairman of Xcellon Capital Advisors. “Therefore, we believe that massive investment in infrastructure will underpin the long-term growth of the economy and meet the needs of a fast-growing population.”
Xcellon Capital Advisors, which provides bespoke solutions in investment management, infrastructure financial advisory and other areas, said the forum is positioned to feature vibrant policy discussions. The company also said a lot of value can be derived in designing suitable policies, developing innovative strategies for financing and managing critical infrastructure in Nigeria.
“Over the coming months and years, we hope to be hosting notable speakers and participants in this sessions amongst who will be frontline ministers involved in infrastructure projects to actively interact with local and international investors that are keen in investing, financing, developing or operating various infrastructure assets in Nigeria,” said Edwina Ugwu, Senior Wealth Manager and Project Coordinator of the Xcellon Infrastructure Roundtable.
The inaugural Infrastructure Breakfast Series will hold from 8.00am to 2.00pm at the Lagos Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel on July 21.
