Facebook says it has updated the features on Pages for faster and convenient connection of businesses, brands and organizations with people. There are more than 45 million active businesses on Facebook and the new features will help brands highlight important information and reach their goals.

For instance, the upgraded call-to-action buttons on Facebook Pages will help bring to the forefront, a business' most important objective. Furthermore, the call-to-action buttons on mobile are more prominent, making it easier for businesses to use their Pages to accomplish their goals. Some of the new call-to-action buttons on mobile include, “Call Now”, “Send Message” and “Contact Us”.

New sections have also been added to Facebook Pages for different business types. Today Facebook announced two new sections for Pages: The new Shop section to help retail businesses bring their products to the forefront of their Page, and the Services section to enable professional services businesses to showcase a list of their offerings at the top of their Page.

In addition, Facebook says it wants to make it easier to navigate through Pages on mobile as more people connect with Pages from phones and tablets. According to GSMA Intelligence, there are currently over 7.5 billion mobile connections in the world. This is more than the number of people on the planet. As such, the layout of Pages is being simplified for easy accessibility of information on mobile devices. Each Page section will be given a corresponding tab, just like how videos and photos have their own tabs.

The new layout will be launched in the coming weeks.

Facebook says it is making its networking site the mobile solution for business. Small businesses can now use Facebook to speak directly to potential and existing customers, and generate sales.

“With more than a billion people visiting Pages on Facebook every month, Pages are the best place for businesses, and in particular small businesses, to reach the people who care about their business and want to learn more exactly where they are – on mobile. We are committed to providing the 45 million businesses with better ways to achieve their goals and supporting these with the right tools,” says Helen Smyth, SMB Community Engagement for Facebook.

Facebook recently announced that there are 15 million active Facebook users in Nigeria as of June 30 this year. According to its Q2 2015 data, 54% of people on Facebook in Nigeria are connected to small businesses.
