Cassona Global Imaging Ltd. (Cassona), a healthcare solutions provider in Africa, on Thursday, marked its third anniversary and launched the Cassona Healthcare Quarterly at a dinner event in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Present at the event were the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company, John Chigbu; U.S. Commercial Counsellor to Nigeria, Julie LeBlanc; Commissioner of Health, Abia State Government, Prof. Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche; bankers; medical practitioners; business leaders; and the media.

In his welcome address, Mr. Chigbu highlighted his vision for Cassona to make a difference in sub–Saharan African (SSA) healthcare by providing medical diagnostic imaging equipment, technical support and training, and continuing medical education for healthcare professionals. Through its quarterly magazine, Cassona also aims to be at the vanguard of showcasing progress in the African healthcare industries.

Cassona, a company of Cassona USA, launched its operations in Accra, Ghana, in 2022. After a successful proof of its concept in Ghana, the company launched its Nigeria operation in Abuja, on 15 May 2025. In this periods, the company has sold and installed over 140 equipment, backed by its technical support programme. Cassona has also built a state-of-the-art hospital in Accra, with many other projects in its pipeline and further expansion into other SSA markets in its outlook.

In the CEO Message in the maiden edition of Cassona Healthcare Quarterly, Chigbu said his company has completed two significant installations in Nigeria: a digital X-ray machine in Kano and a 32-slice CT Scanner in Abuja. He said Cassona offers financing solutions for the acquisition of its equipment and that there has been no default by any client till date.

In her remark, Ms. LeBlanc expressed the commitment of the U.S. to supporting the development of the Nigerian healthcare sector through commercial partnerships and commended Cassona for the progress it has made since its launch three years ago. 

Prof. Uche spoke of the commitment of the administration of Governor Alex Otti of Abia State to the rapid development of the healthcare sector in the state. According to information on its website, the government of Abia State has upgraded over 200 Primary Health Centres and introduced health insurance to transform access to quality healthcare in the state. The commissioner said the Otti administration was willing to partner with Cassona in areas of mutual interests for the benefit of the people of the state.

Chigbu, who has lived and worked in the U.S. for decades, hails from Abia State.
