The Gabonese Republic, in association with the United States, will host the 2015 U.S.-Sub-Saharan Africa Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum (known as the AGOA Forum), August 26-27, 2015 in Libreville.

The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) is the U.S. Government’s signature trade initiative with sub-Saharan Africa and provides for an annual high-level meeting to foster closer economic ties between the United States and sub-Saharan Africa. The theme of this year’s AGOA Forum is “AGOA at 15: Charting a course for a sustainable U.S.-Africa Trade and Investment Partnership”. The Ministerial-level event will include a dialogue on the future of U.S.-Africa trade, reflecting on how to improve AGOA utilization and diversification after the first fifteen years, and looking even beyond the renewal of the trade preference program to determine our shared vision for the future of the U.S.-Africa trade and investment relationship. The Forum will be preceded by private sector and civil society events and discussions, as well as a program arranged by the Gabonese African Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP) chapter, on August 25. The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) in collaboration with the Gabonese Chamber of Commerce will also organize a U.S. – Sub-Saharan Africa trade exhibition to run concurrent with the Forum events.
