The United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) will be hosting a Regional Roundtable for Africa and Middle East on the 10th and 11th of April 2019 at the Nile Ritz Carlton in Cairo, Egypt, under the theme ‘Reshaping Markets Through Financing the SDGs..

The Regional Roundtable, hosted by the League of Arab States, will consist of two days of insights into advances in sustainable finance. The event will provide insight into key developments such as the benefits of sustainable finance integration in national economies in Africa and Middle East, uptake and implementation of the Principles for Responsible Banking, positive impact measurement and growth, delivering resilient infrastructure with insurers and investors, climate related disclosures, natural capital stress testing as well as social impact and inclusion. The Regional Roundtable will follow a high-level meeting to a number of Arab Central Banks coming together with the regional banks on 9th April to discuss the possible shift to sustainable finance.
