Dangote Cement, the cement manufacturing arm of the Dangote Group, has launched a new cement product, called BlocMaster. The new product, adjudged as the best for block-moulding in Nigeria, was formally unveiled in Kano on Tuesday.
According to a statement by Dangote Cement, BlocMaster is an innovative cement product and is ideal for engineers, builders and block moulders due to its rapid setting, especially during rainy season.
“This is a new era. This is a new quality. This is a product of research,” said Joe Makoju, Group Managing Director at Dangote Cement. Adding that the product has been tested and approved by builders nationwide.
Representing the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, said, “Nigerians should patronise the new cement in order to help minimise the menace of building collapse in the country.”
Usman Alhaji also commended the management of Dangote Group for their immense contribution in all sectors of the economy. Also in attendance at the unveiling of the new product were block moulders, builders and other stakeholders in the construction sector.
“I can recommend this product. I have personally used it and I am very convinced that it is the best for those of us who are in the business of block moulding,” said one of the participants at the event, Musa Yahayah, who is Manager at Magina Blocks Industries.
Earlier this month, Brand Nigeria, in its survey of the top 50 brands in Nigeria for 2018, named Dangote Group as the most valuable brand.
According to the Group’s Chief Corporate Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the expansion of the cement manufacturing arm, which has operations in 14 African countries, including Nigeria, Benin, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa and Zambia, has added to the popularity of the Dangote Group and its products.
