Study reveals industries with the most millennial billionaires

There are currently 78 millennial billionaires in the world and their collective net worth is a $418.6 billion, most of them are in the tech industry.

Analysis of data from Forbes by PhysicalGold.com has revealed the industries in the world with the highest number of millennial (23 – 38 years old) billionaires.

Technology is the sector that has the most millennial billionaires with 28 of them. The combined net worth of the 28 tech millennial billionaires is $254.5 billion. Finance and investment industry has the next highest number of millennial billionaires with eight and cumulative net worth of $24.6 billion.

The automotive, fashion and retail, healthcare, and media and entertainment industries have six millennial billionaires each. The construction and engineering, gambling and casinos, logistics, sports, and telecommunications industries have no millennial billionaires.

Overall, there are currently 78 millennial billionaires in the world and their collective net worth is $418.6 billion.

In a statement PhysicalGold.com sent to Financial Nigeria today, it said that not much has been made about millennial billionaires, in spite of their extraordinary ability to accumulate such a huge amount of wealth at a relatively young age.

The 10 richest millennial billionaires are Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, 36 years old, with a net worth of $97 billion. He is followed by Zhang Yiming, the founder of the content media platform ‘ByteDance’, 37, with a net worth of $35.6 billion; and CEO of work management software, ‘Asana’, Dustin Moskovitz, 36, and worth $17.8 billion. All the top four millennial billionaires, including the founder of messaging app ‘Telegram’, Pavel Durov, whose net worth was put are $17.2 billion, are in the technology industry.

The other top ten millennial billionaires, with net worth of between $15.6 billion and $8.7 billion are Lukas Walton (Fashion and Retail), Cheng Yixiao (Media and Entertainment), Nathan Blecharczyk, Bobby Murphy, Evan Spiegel, Sam Bankman-Fried (Finance and Investments), and Agnete Kirk Thinggaard (manufacturing). Those whose industries are unspecified are in the tech industry.

The analysis by PhysicalGold.com also shows the nationalities of the top millennial billionaires. They are United States (33.3%), China (20.5%), Germany (10.3%), Russia (5.1%), Brazil (5.1%), Hong Kong (5.1%), Denmark (3.8%), Australia (3.8%), Sweden (2.6%), Canada (2.6%), Ireland (2.6%), Norway (1.3%), United Kingdom (1.3%), India (1.3%) and Finland (1.3%).
