Group to showcase Kodak's sustainable printing solutions at Lagos event

FC Group, a United Kingdom-based distributor of the latest Kodak equipment and consumables, has said it will exhibit Kodak's SONORA process-free plates at the forthcoming Propak West Africa event taking place in Lagos. The event will hold at the Landmark Centre on 17-19 September, 2019.
 
The Kodak SONORA X process-free plate is the American technology company's latest innovation for the printing industry. It is touted to be fast and said to achieve maximum throughput. It also eliminates all the water, chemistry, and energy associated with plate processing and during imaging.

According to a statement by Kodak, process-free plates are the future of offset printing. The technology enables printers to stay ahead of the competition and increase their output. The company said the process-free printing technology helps printers to reduce their environmental footprint through significant water savings and elimination of waste.

As part of its sustainability agenda, Kodak has said it expects nearly one out of three plates it sells to be process-free by the end of 2019, and it anticipates that nearly 80 percent of its plate production to come from SONORA by 2022.

According to a press statement by FC Group, the company is Kodak's long-term partner in West Africa. The company also supplies new and refurbished prepress equipment to Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast and other parts of Africa, while also providing after-sales services.

Propak West Africa 2019 is promoted as the largest packaging, plastics, food processing, labelling and print exhibition in West Africa.
