Africa CEO Forum launches Africa CEO Network in Nigeria, others

In Nigeria, Toyin Sanni – CEO of Emerging Africa Capital Group, a financial services provider; and Maher Jarmakani – CEO of Jagal, a Nigerian conglomerate with operations in energy businesses – are the ambassadors of the Network.

Africa CEO Forum – an international conference series for chief executive officers in Africa, international investors and experts in the private sector – has announced the launch of Africa CEO Network.

The Africa CEO Network aims to strengthen networking among influential decision-makers in Africa via a digital platform and regular regional networking events. The Network debuts in Abidjan, Casablanca, Lagos, Nairobi, Kinshasa, Accra, Addis Ababa, Douala, Dakar and Johannesburg.

According to a statement released by the Forum on Wednesday, across the North, West, East and Southern Africa, the Africa CEO Network will be represented by two ambassadors, who will act as spokespersons for the Network and local points of contact for future members.

In Nigeria, Toyin Sanni – CEO of Emerging Africa Capital Group, a financial services provider; and Maher Jarmakani – CEO of Jagal, a Nigerian conglomerate with operations in energy businesses – are the ambassadors of the Network. They are saddled with the responsibility of co-building and working towards the Network’s growth by participating in the recruitment of new members.

The maiden event of the Lagos hub is expected to take place on June 27, 2019, according to the statement. The event will bring together experts to share insights and possible solutions that can be implemented to address Nigeria’s power deficit.

In 2018, the Africa CEO Forum launched the Women in Business Network with the aim of promoting meetings and interaction between women managers with business interests in Africa.

Since its inception in 2012, the Africa CEO Forum has brought together more than 5,000 business leaders, investors and high-level policymakers from across Africa and the world. The 2019 edition, which held in Kigali on March 25-26, was themed, “Open Africa: From continental treaties to business realities.” It convened about 1,500 business leaders, investors and policymakers from more than 70 countries including about 40 African countries.

The organisers of the Forum are Jeune Afrique Medi Group – publisher of Jeune Afrique and The African Report – and Rainbow Unlimited, a Swiss company specialising in the organisation of economic promotion event.
