Actis Opens $100 million Shopping Mall in Nigeria
( 16.12.11 )

Actis has opened Ikeja City Mall in Nigeria, three years after it commissioned the building project.

Actis led the investment in the construction of the mall in 2008 and owns 60% of the facility. RMB Investments & Advisory and Paragon Holdings each hold 20%.

The space accommodates nearly 100 shops including Shoprite, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Mr Price, Twice as Nice, Nike and Aldo. The mall incorporates informal meeting places, a food hall and a five screen cinema. The facility covers 27,000 square metres of gross built area and 23,000 square meters of lettable area.

"Actis is proud to unveil Ikeja City Mall on plan, on time and on budget; following in the footsteps of The Palms and Accra Mall," said Actis real estate rirector, Michael Chu'di Ejekam. "We believe that Nigeria and Ghana alone have the potential for at least 20 or more similar scale malls."
